VIPUR is a Limited Liability Company formed to distribute the unique patented VIPUR electrostatic fluid filtration system to the global marketplace. Lubricants, fuels, solvents and cooking oil are examples of fluids wherein particulate contamination (e.g., dirt, carbon, metal shavings) degrades fluid performance, reduces equipment reliability and significantly reduces the useful life of the fluid. Mechanical filters, such as metal and cloth sieves, are currently used to remove particulates and extend fluid life. However, mechanical filter efficiency is limited by the physical size of the holes/pores in the material. Therefore, mechanical filters can only remove about 25% of the resident particulate contamination, generally with dimensions larger than five (5) microns. The VIPUR electrostatic filter addresses the remaining particulate (75%) contamination and removes particulate matter as small as .001 microns, returning the fluid performance and enabling reuse.
The VIPUR electrostatic fluid filtration system uses proven technology to efficiently and economically extend the useful life of oils, fuels and solvents. The electrostatic filter can be tailored to the viscosity and dielectric characteristics of the fluid and operating environment, and the technology is scalable to accommodate a variety of throughput requirements. We have successfully demonstrated the removal of non-soluble particulates with dimensions as small as 0.001 microns (ISO Code 15/10) from a wide variety of new and used fluids.
